I had an accident in route to embassy suites this am. They actually sent an courtesy van to see if I was ok and if I needed a ride. So nice.

My favorite hotel from my recent cross-country tour. Unusually good breakfast, generous cocktail hour, and clean, up-to-date rooms. It is not close to downtown Charleston, and that's a consideration, but I travel for a living and can honestly say this hotel does everything right.

My wife and I stayed here for a convention paid for by my employer. Since we didn't have to pay out of pocket for the room our expectations of the experience were initially indifferent. I have to say I would pay full price to stay here again. Our room was clean and large. The furniture was very comfortable and there were two flat screen tv's. All the service we experienced was courteous and polite. Every question we asked about the building or locations around the area to visit were answered promptly and with enough information to prevent the need to ask a follow up question. I didn't eat any of the food there using their room service option but I have to say that their complimentary breakfast with their cook to order omelets was amazing! And their happy hour had good beer options and snacks. I wouldn't argue with the quality of their complimentary meals and drinks. My wife and I could stay here for an extended time and feel comfortable spending most of our time in the room. My only issue was the fact that they don't offer free internet to non-members and their pay-per view channel charges nearly the same amount as it would cost to see a film in the theater.

I want to start by saying that I travel often and I have stayed at a few Embassy Suites in different cities. This hotel was booked by our Family Reunion committee, so prior to my arrival, I contacted the hotel to inquiry about shuttle service from the airport and to the downtown area. The staff were helpful and friendly. The hospitality increased when I arrived. My shuttle driver who picked me up at the airport was a wealth of information. He informed me about the complimentary evening appetizers and breakfast. I was glad to hear about both. The staff also told me about local public transportation and this came in handy during the weekend. Check-in was quick and easy and when I saw my room, I was pleased - it was spacious and clean. I decided once I got settled to check out the managers reception (complimentary drinks and cheese/crackers, hummus, and tortilla chips. It was a great and a nice way for the family to meet and greet before the official family activities began. The staff were attentive and so nice with all the chaos going on (During my stay-three family reunions and a large church convention) to maintain good customer service when large groups are involved. Overall, the experience was Outstanding!! I would recommend this hotel to everyone if this is a convenient place for you to stay. If you don't drive - Uber Car Service Is Available and they were provided great service too!! Side Note: Tanger Outlet Mall is 2 Minutes Away - Hotel Shuttle will drive you there and you can call for a pick-up when done.

Very poorly managed, pretty much sums it up. Had expected HHonors Diamond treatment only to find out that this place is filled with surly staff who could not give a rip about any requests. Even though it was not fully booked the night before or after, an early check in (I'm talking 3:40 PM) and late checkout (asked for 12:00 noon) both proved to be impossible. MyWay treats in the room? -- forget it. If you're staying here (which I will not be, ever again) be warned that weekends are filled with family reunions (you can tell them from the tee shirts) making the breakfast a feeding frenzy and leaving a lot of trash in the hallways. I was (am) pretty disgusted with this place.

We stayed here Saturday night to Monday morning last week for my boyfriend's cousin's wedding. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised! The layout inside is typical of Embassy suites (see pics). We had a suite - 2 double beds in the room, one roll-out sofa. Nothing bad, nothing spectacular. The things that stood out the very most to me were - 1. The beautiful ballroom (we stayed in the hotel for a wedding. The wedding and reception were in the same venue, where the convention center is.) 2. Happy Hour. FREE happy hour in the main lobby from 5:30-7 daily. Have you ever heard of such a thing? Not I. Not til this place. Granted it's not top shelf but who would expect that anyway. Dollar tips and happy sips! 3. Breakfast was amazing. (See my pic.) probably the best of Hotel breakfast that I've ever had. It's a breakfast buffet of pancakes, French toast, eggs, home fries, fruits, cereal, juices, milk, coffee, yogurt, pastries, AND an omelet bar where they make customized omelets to order! 4. Towels. This may seem like a minute detail but I LOVE hotels with towels that aren't stiff or extra bleached, these were just....clean! Their towels were all newer and I just loved it! Another plus - this place is close to many things, even Walmart. AND right across the street from Tanger Outlets. Yay! I'm a fan of this place and would definitely recommend it to others!

Bed bugs. My husband is covered in bites and he was there for 3nights. When he called them to let them know the manager apologized and offered 1night stay. Uh...I don't think Its worth another night with bugs eating us while we sleep. Gross

Happy hour is so good. We stay here every time we visit Charleston and we are never disappointed. Clean rooms, courteous staff and wonderful breakfast and happy hour. Good job guys!

It's a standard Embassy Suites... Maybe even above average. It's a good location for the convention center or outlet malls. Otherwise you better rent a car. If your stranded car-less at a convention it's a great location! Close to the airport! Plenty of 'off campus' food and shopping options within a mile.

Harold's Hotel Happy Hour is the best well known secret ever!! Can I say I'm a big fan of this place? Anyone staying here get's to have free Happy Hour! From like 5:30pm to 7:30 pm. Yes it's two whole hours and there's snack food included. There's no choice for the beer on tap but they did have Miller Lite on this night in particular. I try to get there as often as I can as they are so good to me. BTW: dont' forget to Tip. Just because it's free doesn't mean the bartender is working for free as well. After all it's not like it's self service.

My husband and I chose this hotel because the hotels downtown were insanely expensive. We much rather would have stayed down there but we ended up saving a ton so it was worth it to us. The rooms are quite large and clean, which was nice. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. They offer breakfast included in the rate which is almost inedible but free so there's that. Tip: stick with fruit and cereal, the cooked food might actually make you sick. The walls between the rooms are quite thin so you do tend to hear a lot of what is going on with other people. A lot of families stayed here, probably because it's more affordable and we heard a lot of children. They might have a shuttle that goes down town, but don't hold me to that. My husband and I drove into downtown. The hotel does have a parking lot which is included in your stay. Overall, my husband and I were happy with our choice because we ended up saving over $100 by staying here.

The room we are in smells of cat pee. The floor is gross. The beds are small and uncomfortable. They charge $3 for a bottle of water in the room. I paid the $3 because they also have regular glasses instead of individually packaged disposable cups and I will not use a real glass at a hotel (and you shouldn't either). I woke up this morning feeling disgusting. I will never stay here again. And they charge for local calls. Seriously? What hotel does that anymore?!

I arrived around 9pm, the front desk staff is a bit novice. Beautiful lobby. the rooms are big, beds small. Maybe full size but definitely not queen size! Not at all plush. heres the kicker, there is NO free wifi in the room! You have to pay 9.95 per day, per device. This is not the dark ages. Even the HOJO has free wifi. Free wifi is available in the lobby... thats like 100 strikes aganist you. The breakfast was what saved this hotel. HOT FOOD. And you can also get it made to order. Eggs are terrible.

Nice bar area with good selection of wine. Good place to get a drink before going to an event next door at the Performing Arts Convention Center or the Coliseum.

We booked this room through a hotel booking website for the final night of our vacation & got a stellar rate on the room. The bummer was that they didn't have a king bed left & my husband & I had to sleep "1950's style" in separate double beds. Overall the staff was super friendly, the room & bathroom were super clean, the beds were super comfy, the free cocktail hour was appreciated, & the free hot breakfast was fabulous. They also had little Charleston Chews in the candy dish at the reception desks (cute), Yes, it is a 15-20 minute drive to historic Charleston...but looking at a map prior to booking could have told you that fact (unless you have a teleporter or flying car, then Go You! :-) ). Overall, we would gladly consider staying here again when visiting Charleston.

The hotel itself provided 5 star service, pleasant staff, free happy hour and breakfast, BUT the food SUCKED. The breakfast line was long, and the poor breakfast lady overcooked everyone's omelettes b/c she was doing 5 omelettes at a time. I ordered room service for 2 consecutive nights, disappointing both nights. Minus two stars for the bad food.

Nice hotel. Checkin was efficient. Rooms are suites and nicely done. Very close to airport. All the action however is downtown which is a 20 minute cab ride.

We will not stay here again. We went down for the complimentary drinks. There was a Labrador, a pet, in the seating area on top of a table barking. Nobody made it stop. Eventually, the owner took the dog to a room on the second floor. I asked the girl at the desk if pets were allowed in the rooms. She said, "Yes". We took our drink to our room. We then found out they charge $10 per device in the room. Really? WiFi charged per device? Can you get any more greedy? Definitely not coming back.

This is a great, clean hotel, with a very friendly staff. The free breakfast buffet is amazing and is comparable to a $15 breakfast you'd get at a nicer restaurant. They also offer a free happy hour which is a bonus. The only knock (and the reason they lost a star) is the $9.95 they charge if you want free wifi in your room.

Great rooms for a romantic weekend getaway. But location is not good for walking around the city it is very far from downtown. $15 per person for city shuttle and the last shuttle comes back at 10:20pm on a Saturday night. We thought it was way too early. The breakfast bar is just ok. Pancakes were rubbery and the potatoes were not good. the fresh omelet bar had a very long line every morning. :-( I would have liked a fresh waffle maker.

Getting ready to turn in on night two of a two-night stay at this establishment. Too early to write a review? Perhaps, but I will live on the edge and say that this was a fabulous stay. We were in from VA for an Irish Dance Competition.. our daughter did quite well, thanks for asking. That competition was at the attached convention center, and of all the events we have been to, this was by far the most well thought-through venue for such an event. With hundreds of Irish Dancers at these events, all dancing and practicing in corners and hallways, you can imagine how many times I've nearly lost an eye just walking to the BATHROOM... but not at this convention center. The traffic patterns and general flow of the facility made such accidents nearly impossible. The room is great, breakfast and happy hour are included, and wonderful. Only complaint I have is about the in-room refridergator... had to turn it on when we got here... took several hours to cool the sodas we had with us. Minor complaint. For those Yelpers who complain about downtown Charleston (which we spent all day exploring by the way) being nine miles away, well... try using a little technology and pull up Google maps before you book your next hotel! Not a surprise that this hotel is located outside of downtown... it is clearly NEAR THE AIRPORT! Good grief some of you peoplemake me worry about the possibility of an intelligent future of humanity! Enjoying our stay... and the drive to downtown is not so bad that it can't be managed... unless of course, you can't use a map or GPS device. Embassy Suites.. nice job!

I've stayed here a few times over the years, and though the lobby is nice, the rooms are outdated and in need of renovation. The floors and interior of the rooms are of questionable sanitary condition. Though the staff is friendly enough, this hotel is a bit on the noisy side, and parking is horrid after 6pm, since the coliseum is within the same lot. If you are in the area, I'd recommend staying elsewhere, homewood suites is definately a better property if they have availability.

My mother run a convention for kids and for the last 6 or so year we have chosen this place to hold it. HOWEVER one would think knowing that kids were coming in the would offer a family friendly menu in the dinning room. All I wanted was chicken fingers that didn't cost 22 dollars via room service...but no I had to order this fancy smancy chicken dish. I do not have expensive taste! BUT....The one thing that blew my mind was the shuttle folks. TAMI AND CHUCK. WOW!!!! They were great!! The shuttle was only 5 bucks verses 25 for a cab. And not only that these guys went above and beyond to help us out and make us happy. They even stayed on longer than they had to, so we (A group of 8 people) Could have dinner and see a tour so we didn't have to blow 25 more each on the cab system. So bravo to the shuttle people and poo to the food. Other than than the hotel is a hotel is a hotel....the bed a soft though :)

Nice hotel, airport convenient. But...if your objective is to get downtown and say, have dinner at someplace other than the Wendy's nearby THIS hotel, don't stay here. Was in town for a convention and the facilities are exactly what one needs, but all the FUN is at least 20 minutes by cab. Work a deal at the front desk here to make sure you can get BACK to the hotel from downtown, or better yet...STAY DOWNTOWN!

Copy of my letter to the GM: It is not often I can take the time to write about my travel experiences, but my recent stay the the Embassy suites North Charleston SC deserves a moment of my time. From check in to check out the entire experience was a pure delight. My business travel schedule has recently increased to weekly trips from my previous schedule of only 4 - 6 trips annually, and to be able to actually enjoy this experience in North Charleston was a welcome surprise. I wish I could remember name of the front desk supervisor who checked me in (Tues March 22, 2011- m/blond hair, probably late 20's to early 30's) but he took the time to find me a quiet room in a far corner, high floor in a hotel booked to capacity. Most appreciated after being in loud airports for 20+ hours! Regarding my room service meal Tuesday night for dinner, I can say categorically it was the best hotel room service meal I have ever had- full stop. My wife and I are admitted 'Foodies' and have eaten at many of the finest restaurants in the world including Alain Ducasse Paris, Eric Ripert (Le Bernardin, NY), and Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in London. And while I cannot in good conscience rank the food in the same league as those meals, I mention them just as a point of reference that I hold the quality of my meal at the Embassy Tuesday night in such high regard, especially for Room Service! I enjoyed it so much in fact, I took a photo of it on my iPhone to I could attempt to re-create it at home! (Photo attached - Seared Sea Scallops, Mushroom Risotto). The freshness and preparation of the scallops were both perfect! The risotto was amazing, and the sauce brilliant. Further, the server (Hal?) who delivered it presented my meal and beverages to me most happily, professionally and seemed GENUINELY thrilled to be doing so. And finally, BEYOND FURTHER, I happened to mention to him that there was a spot of mold on my ice cubes taken from the 8th floor ice machine (to be expected from time to time, especially in the humid southern climate) and asked him to please notify management so it could be addressed. He agreed to do so and with great courtesy and wishes for an enjoyable meal he left my room. About 5 minutes later a knock on the door. It was my waiter, returning with a full metal pitcher of ice he had collected from the kitchen ice machine! Unsolicited! Absolutely refreshing to experience initiative and courtesy above and beyond the call. I have been a loyal Hilton Honors guest for several years, and our entire family have long been Hilton loyalists back to my father and grandfather. Please know that my experience this past week has only increased my loyalty to and appreciation of the Hilton / Embassy brands and I will make you my first choice whenever possible.

If you go when they are having reunions or meetings in the area then you will hate it! Other than that, it is okay. The bartenders were a little rude. The housekeeping is slow. The omelet guy was the best out of Every Embassy I visited from any states.

We stayed here this past week and the front desk was rude on the 2 occassions that we had to deal with them. Definitely not what I expected from an Embassy Suites hotel. Our flight was delayed and we did not get to check in until 1am friday morning. The lady at the front desk didn't say hello, welcome, or anything. Then went on and acted like she was busy and we were interrupting her (even though there is NOBODY ELSE around at that time). I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt that it is 1am but she forgot to give us our ticket/card for the free breakfast and manager's reception. When someone notified us that we need it in order to get free breakfast and drinks, we went up to the front desk and requested it. This time the MANAGER of all people was rather rude to us. When we said we never received the ticket/card, instead of asking for ID, he went on to "quiz" us such as our home address, our work address, etc. I felt like a criminal that needs to prove my existence. When we said a friend booked our room under the "friends and family discount", he went on to quiz us even more about this friend. It's a friend of a friend okay, jeez.. It really affected my experience with Embassy Suites. I used to rate Embassy Suites at the top of my list, but now I know that customer service isn't the same at all locations and will have to consider somewhere else next time.
